Dear DCINY Performers, VIPS, and Audience Members,
Just like you, our team here at DCINY has been monitoring the latest updates here in New York City. We have been in regular communication with the halls and the local health authorities as we coordinate our response to the ongoing and ever-changing situation related to the new coronavirus (COVID-19). Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center today announced that they will be closed for all public events and programming through the end of March in an effort to reduce the spread of the virus. Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York has additionally announced restrictions on public gatherings of 500 or more people, shuttering concert venues and theatres.
DCINY fully supports the difficult decision made by both venues and authorities, and share in their feeling that the health and safety of performers and concertgoers is top priority. In response to this announcement all DCINY performance residencies during the month of March, and associated rehearsals and concert activities, are officially cancelled by the venue and the city. We are receiving additional feedback from all relevant agencies to further understand the current situation, and will continue to share information as quickly as we are receiving it.
We are so thankful for all of the hard work and dedication from all of our participating artists, performers and VIPS. We know you have all dedicated yourselves towards creating an incredible musical experience and we share in the disappointment that we’re unable to go forward with our planned March performances.
DCINY looks forward to resuming our season as programmed as soon as the venues confirm reopening for April 1 and it is deemed safe by local health authorities. We thank you for your patience as we navigate this evolving situation together. As always, we are dedicated to the creation of powerful and life changing events here in New York City and look forward to continuing our work.
